Light behaves both as a wave and a particle. The double-slit experiment shows interference patterns (wave behavior), while the photoelectric effect shows light ejecting electrons in discrete packets (particle behavior). Quantum mechanics resolves this by describing light as quantized photons that also have wavelength properties.
